About Us

What if there was a class where curiosity ruled? Where you learned not only how things worked, but how you might make them work better.  Where the biggest challenge was between you and your imagination.

Students enrolled in Youth Business Connections (YBC) will be introduced to entrepreneurial concepts so that they may become entrepreneurial thinkers.  Students use critical thinking, problem solving, research, reading, team-building, math, communications and personal finance skills.

Today's young people need a strong foundation for making intelligent lifelong personal financial decisions.  Youth Business Connections  help students navigate the world of personal finance as they assume the role of an "adult".  Students will be given a unique life situation card which includes an income, and student must work to balance a budget while making critical decisions regarding housing, transportation, saving, entertainment and other life expenses.

Students will be involved in learning about the stock market through a proven method of teaching financial literacy concepts and economics.

Online activities, portfolios, projects, handouts, and simulated projects will be used throughout the YBC experience.

YBC Philosophy

In this globally community in which we now live, we must meet this challenge by promoting literacy skills for all youth.  We want to create an environment where youth experience the freedom to learn and to use  critical thinking and inquiry skills in processing information;  to research and exchange views, to expand the youth knowledge in an innovative approach to problem solving by collaborating, negotiating, and demonstrating the ability to think critically with advancing technologies to maximize workplace readiness skills.
